We’re deep into wedding season and we couldn’t help but be inspired with the celebratory energy in the air. We have couples visit our shop for engagement ring consultation year round but at this time in particular it’s pure wedding vibes we feel! All of the months of planning come together for the big day. Everyone is talking, texting and posting beautiful wedding photos on their social media. How exciting!

The vintage look is always popular because it radiates romance, fairy tales, softness, and reminds us of family tradition, things we typically attribute to the ceremonial recognition of love and marriage. We picked out three elements in a wedding that incorporates touches of the vintage aesthetic; decor, wedding dress, wedding jewelry.
Table Settings & Decor
What sets the mood more than anything? The decoration of the space takes the lead when setting an atmosphere and mood. The choices on the chairs, flowers and lights are all important to create an impressionable space from the early 1900's.
The most beautiful wedding table inspiration we found was lace fabric draping over a wood table. This added elegance and drama. The dangling crystal chandelier; more hanging white lace from the chairs; the antique high candelabras; and the mix match wood tables and chairs set a sophisticated, romantic, rustic mood.
Wedding Dresses
We’re swooning over vintage inspired wedding dresses these days. Creamy pearls, scalloped edges, beading details, the low necklines and backlines topped with cap sleeves wins over even the most modern of Brides.
Lace on a white dress screams bridal more than lace on any other color dress. Lace is a key ingredient in the vintage wedding dress. It's in all the right places on a dress and accentuates the female frame. They highlight the neckline and back and the woman's curves. With the structure of dresses having exposed fronts and backs, and typically higher waist lines, the vintage looking wedding dress offers simplicity in fine craftsmanship. A gorgeous low key silhouette with the finest delicate details.
The exquisite beading and appliqué on lace adds a sparkle and dash of 1920's whimsical. Lace is feminine and just beautiful. But if lace on the dress is kept to a minimum, you can’t go wrong with a great veil with large flower appliqué or birdcage net that still embodies the vintage look.
Bridal Jewelry
Pearls, diamonds, sapphires with flower motifs, and filigree and curlicue detail settings are the ingredients to vintage inspired bridal jewelry.
Choosing the right jewelry is an important decision to achieve the elegant classic look. Many brides are enhancing their wedding hairstyle with a beautiful pair of vintage earrings because it’s timeless and glamorously romantic. Whether it’s a delightful pair of pearl or diamond drop dangle chandelier earrings or diamond studs to complement your low bun or peek through your flowing locks, the most beautiful bridal earrings seem to have elements of the victorian, edwardian, art deco or mid-century era style.
As for vintage engagement rings and wedding bands, this is an area we are most fond of since we are lovers and collectors of vintage rings. We’re so excited that besides the characteristic settings of vintage rings, new brides are choosing other types of gemstones over the diamond. Blue sapphires, green emeralds, purple amethyst and iridescent opals are among some of the new choices for engagement rings. Gold bands with milgrain or etched detail create character. An old world charm brings a distinctive look and feel to wedding rings and bands among a sea of choices in today's plain gold contemporary styles.
